Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is hiring In-Home Caregivers to provide one-on-one, non-medical home care to seniors and adults in Hebron, IN, and nearby communities. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with part-time and PRN (as-needed) opportunities.

Experience required

At least two years of paid caregiving experience in home care or a similar hands-on caregiving role is required. Relevant experience may include work as an In-Home Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA), or Personal Support Assistant (PSA). Experience in private homes, assisted living, nursing facilities, or group homes may qualify if it included hands-on help with daily living.

What you’ll do

Provide personal care and help with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Assist with walking, safe transfers, and the use of walkers or wheelchairs according to the client’s care plan and your training.
Provide companionship, prepare meals, and help with light housekeeping and laundry.
Give medication reminders within the scope of non-medical care and report changes in the client’s condition or behavior.
Use our mobile app to clock in and out, document care, and communicate with the office.
Follow agency safety and infection prevention procedures and protect each client’s privacy and dignity.

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
Current CPR certification and TB testing before your first client assignment
Ability to use a smartphone for scheduling, timekeeping, and care documentation
Dependable attendance, clear communication, and a respectful approach to care

Schedule and support

Flexible scheduling based on your availability and client needs
Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts depending on current openings
Paid orientation and ongoing caregiver training
Local office team with 24/7 on-call support
Reports to the Staffing Coordinator

Compensation: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
