Are you a dependable, flexible caregiver looking for an opportunity to make a difference while having flexibility in your schedule? Assisting Hands Home Care in Cary is looking for reliable On-Call Caregivers and Home Care Aides to help cover open shifts and last-minute staffing needs.

This position is ideal for someone who can stay available at home during their scheduled on-call hours and come in to provide care when needed.

How the On-Call Position Works

Weekday availability: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–1:30 PM.
Weekend availability: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM.
Stay at home until needed: You can remain at home during your on-call window unless you are contacted and asked to cover a shift.
Flexible coverage: Shifts depend on client needs, call-outs, and scheduling requirements.
Reliable response: You must be reachable during your scheduled on-call hours and able to report to an assigned shift within the required timeframe.

Please note: Being on call does not guarantee that you will be called in for a shift every day.

Caregiver Responsibilities

Depending on the client's individual care plan, responsibilities may include:

Assisting with personal care, including bathing, showering, and dressing.
Providing companionship and emotional support.
Preparing meals and assisting with eating as appropriate.
Providing medication reminders according to the care plan.
Assisting with light housekeeping related to the client's needs.
Supporting safe mobility and walking, within your training and assigned duties.
Communicating client updates, concerns, and changes in condition to the office.

What We're Looking For

A dependable caregiver who is flexible and comfortable with changing assignments.
Someone willing to work with a variety of clients with different personalities, routines, and care needs.
Comfort working in homes with pets, including dogs and cats.
Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
Ability to follow care plans and communicate with the office.
Reliable transportation to assigned client locations.
Ability to meet applicable hiring, background screening, and training requirements.
Previous caregiving experience

Get Paid to Be Available!

Enjoy the flexibility of staying home while earning pay for your scheduled on-call availability! During your assigned on-call hours, you can relax at home and go about your day until you are needed to cover a caregiver shift. If a shift becomes available, you must be ready to respond and report to work as required.

Get paid for your availability, even when you aren't called in to work!

Compensation: $7.25 - $16.00 per hour
