Do you have a heart for memory care and a gift for helping someone feel safe, comfortable, and cared for through the night?

At Assisting Hands Littleton, we believe great caregiving is about more than completing a checklist. It’s about understanding that every person deserves to feel respected, reassured, and cared for especially during the overnight hours when a familiar, compassionate presence can make all the difference.

We’re looking for a small team of compassionate caregivers to provide overnight care for a wonderful client living with memory loss. Because these are 12-hour overnight shifts, we are looking for a couple of caregivers who can provide consistent and dependable coverage.

Overnight Schedule

Regular overnight shifts from 8:00 PM–8:00 AM currently available for:

  • Sunday nights
  • Monday nights
We are looking to build a consistent overnight caregiving team, with caregivers taking regular nights each week. We are looking for dependable caregivers who can commit to a consistent schedule.

We are also interested in caregivers who would like to be available as needed for occasional fill-in shifts when additional coverage is needed.

What Your Time Together Will Look Like

Your role will be centered around helping our client feel safe, supported, and comfortable throughout the evening and overnight hours.

You may provide:

  • Memory care support with patience, reassurance, and gentle redirection
  • Assistance with getting ready for bed and settling into the evening
  • Companionship and meaningful conversation
  • Support if the client wakes during the night
  • Assistance with snacks, hydration, or other needs as appropriate
  • Encouragement and reassurance when the client becomes confused or unsettled
  • Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment throughout the shift
  • Support with the morning routine as the overnight shift comes to an end
  • A calm, reassuring presence for the client
And sometimes, the most important thing you'll do is simply be there providing a familiar face, a calm voice, and reassurance when the night feels confusing.

This client has cats in the home, so you’ll need to be comfortable working around cats.

Why This Caregiving Opportunity Is Special

This isn't a fast-paced facility environment where you're caring for multiple people at once.

You'll have the opportunity to focus on one client, learn their routines, build trust, and provide personalized care throughout the night.

We're intentionally looking for a small, consistent team of caregivers rather than having a different caregiver come in every night. Familiarity is especially important when caring for someone living with memory loss.

Our goal is for the client to become comfortable with their caregivers, recognize familiar faces, and develop trusting relationships. Consistency also gives the family peace of mind knowing who will be caring for their loved one.

For someone who enjoys memory care and values meaningful one-on-one relationships, this can become more than a job. It can become a relationship.

You may be the person who helps someone feel reassured when they wake during the night, provides a familiar presence when they are confused, or simply helps them feel safe knowing someone they know is there.

Why Caregivers Love Working With Assisting Hands

We believe caregivers deserve the same compassion and support that they give to their clients.

You'll receive:

  • $19–$25/hour — overtime eligible
  • Consistent, predictable scheduling
  • Sick pay
  • 401(k) retirement program
  • Paid travel time & mileage reimbursement
  • Training, support, and opportunities to grow
  • A responsive team that truly has your back
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life

What We're Looking For

We're looking for caregivers who are dependable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with individuals experiencing memory loss.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency
  • Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, or another memory-related condition
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
  • Three professional references
  • TB test within 30 days of hire
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A patient, compassionate personality and a genuine heart for older adults
  • Comfortable working in a home with cats
Looking for Consistent Overnight Hours?

If you're looking for regular 12-hour overnight shifts and enjoy building a genuine relationship with a client, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a small, dependable team who can commit to regular nights and work together to provide consistency for our client and their family.

We are also open to hearing from caregivers who would like to be part of our as-needed fill-in team for occasional overnight coverage.

If you believe caregiving is about the person, not just the tasks, this could be a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Memory loss doesn't change a person's need for dignity, connection, patience, reassurance, and respect.

You don't have to have all the answers. You just need to bring compassion, consistency, and a willingness to be present when someone needs you.

If that sounds like you, apply today and become part of the Assisting Hands Littleton family.

U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Information (Completion is voluntary)

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us comply with federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action record keeping, reporting, and other legal requirements.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
