As a Caregiver with Assisting Hands, you will provide compassionate, dependable, and professional in-home care while promoting each client’s comfort, safety, dignity, and independence. Under the supervision of the Care Manager and coordination with the Staffing Coordinator, you will assist clients with personal care, daily living activities, mobility, meals, and light household tasks according to each client’s individualized Plan of Care.


Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and caregiving skills.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to client care.
  • Ability to follow care plans, company policies, and safety procedures.

  • Care Manager

Key Responsibilities


1. Clean & Safe Environment

  • Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and common areas.
  • Assist with laundry, dishes, and routine household tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and safe home environment.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or concerns.

2. Personal Care & Assistance

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, shaving, and transfers.
  • Support mobility, ambulation, positioning, and prescribed exercises according to the Plan of Care.
  • Assist with meals, feeding, and other personal care needs.
  • Respect client privacy, dignity, preferences, and independence.

3. Nutritional Support

  • Prepare and serve meals according to client preferences, dietary requirements, and the Plan of Care.
  • Assist with meal planning, feeding, and hydration.
  • Report concerns regarding food or fluid intake when appropriate.

4. Client Health & Well-Being

  • Observe and promptly report changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the Care Manager or Staffing Coordinator.
  • Accurately document care provided, including vital signs, intake/output, and other required information.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, or significant changes in condition promptly.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.

5. Mobility & Physical Activities

  • Safely assist with mobility and transfer equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts, and Hoyer lifts, as applicable and within training.
  • Encourage prescribed range-of-motion and physical activities.
  • Promote safe mobility and fall-prevention practices.
  • Support family members with safe caregiving practices when appropriate.

6. Infection Control & Compliance

  • Follow infection prevention practices, including proper hand hygiene and applicable CDC guidelines.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and caregiver standards outlined in the Employee Handbook, Policy & Procedure Manual, and Caregiver Training Manual.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain required training and applicable caregiving standards.

Working Hours

  • Schedules are based on client needs, availability, and staffing requirements.
  • Shifts may vary based on client care needs.
  • A fixed number of hours is not guaranteed.
Compensation: $18.50 per hour
