Salary position: $50,000-60,300 annually
This position is key in growing staff and ensuring Assisting Hands quality standards for care are met. Ideal candidate is a CNA/LPN with 5 years’ experience with clients of all care levels, personalities and dementia behaviors. Must have skill with various pt. lifting devices. The candidate must be proficient in using computers (ie. Word/Gmail etc). Candidate must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to drive for purposes of this job throughout our large Western and Southern Suburban areas. This position conducts home visits and hands-on training, to ensure that clients’ needs are met and the services requested are delivered to Assisting Hands Standards. This position conducts skill tests and orientation to grow all levels of caregiver skills in accordance with all state and federal regulatory requirements. The position will develop and oversee implementation of a retention program for our office.
Primary Duties:
- Primary responsibility to grow and retain our roster of qualified caregiving staff including duties of interviewing, skills testing, recruiting and onboarding new staff, and managing initial and ongoing training.
- Meets with new clients and their caregivers to provide orientation to services with Assisting Hands® at initiation of service, when there is a change in caregivers, and ongoing to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- To Ensure excellence in quality care this position will schedule, and conduct home visits as directed by care manager to ensure care plans are accurate, appropriate, being followed by our staff, and updated in a timely manner in conjunction with the Lead Care Manager.
- Provides hands-on care giving as needed in emergency situations.
- Responsible for conducting and coordinating caregiver training classes in conjunction with other office staff to grow our care team’s skill level.
- Develop a hands-on training program for caregiver’s skill growth, including a design for a career ladder and mentoring program.
- Provide input to the scheduling team to ensure a match for clients with appropriately skilled caregivers/CNAs AND to promote opportunities for caregiver growth.
8. Implement and manage a quality retention program to decrease care staff turnover below 70%.
- Participates in occasional marketing activities such as job fairs, networking with local nursing/CNA schools etc.to grow our talent pool.
