Job Overview:

We are seeking a bilingual caregiver who can provide personalized in-home support to a Spanish-speaking female client with dementia. This role involves creating a safe, supportive, and understanding environment while addressing her unique physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cueing and Personal Care: Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility through gentle reminders and cues, ensuring the client’s dignity is upheld.
  • Companionship and Communication: Build trust and foster emotional well-being through kind, patient interaction. Fluency in Spanish is preferred for clear and comforting communication.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare light, nutritious meals tailored to her preferences and dietary needs, ensuring they are easy to manage and enjoy.
  • Household Assistance: Provide light housekeeping, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Engagement: Encourage participation in simple activities and routines to promote cognitive stimulation, emotional connection, and memory recall.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Observe any changes in her behavior, health, or mood, and communicate concerns to the care team or supervisor.
  • Adherence to Care Plan: Follow a detailed care plan designed to meet the client’s specific needs, including strategies for managing dementia-related challenges.
Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of one year of caregiving experience, with specific experience in caring for individuals with dementia preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is preferred to communicate effectively with the client and her family.
  • Skills: Compassionate, patient, and skilled in managing caregiving challenges, particularly those associated with dementia care.
  • Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Comfortable assisting with mobility and performing light household duties.
